Want to Raise Cows?

Before you can bring your herd home, you will need:

 

Young Steers and Heifers with Zeus the Bull

Fencing – 4 barbed wire

Electric fencing – one wire or two if separating into grazing paddocks

Water supply

Large waterer  (no leaks)

Corral – with preferably squeeze chute

Hay – 2 tons per cow per winter (includes her newborn calf)

Hay – alfalfa during calving season

Hay – grass hay for when it is cold and as a second choice (they will choose what they

            need)

Salt blocks with selenium (our area is selenium deficient)

Bloat blocks if they are going on a green fresh alfalfa field

Minerals

Kelp

Comb  (for hairy Highland Cattle)

Lead rope (nylon)

Lasso rope

Headlight lights for walking around the cows at night with hands free lighting

A trailer for transporting them

A true love and dedication for animals and their wellbeing.
